Reactionary, Holocaust-Denying Propagandist President Speaks at Columbia

Columbia University on Monday offered itself in service of holocaust denying anti-Semitic President, Lee Bollinger.

Taking a respite from his vigilant quest to ethnically cleanse Harlem and going back on his promise last year to stifle free speech on behalf of his Zionist masters, Bollinger's propagandistic tirade - a 15-minute orgiastic apologia for Uncle Sam's Iraq Genocide and Apartheid Israel's right to maim and slaughter at will - and paean to anti-intellectualism pleased even the most tried-and-true experts in the field of ignorant bluster and reactionary propaganda.

As Uncle Sam's desire for war grows and as his bloodly ambition to slaughter innocent Persians builds, anti-Semitic Zionist 'soldiers' like Bollinger will be called upon with increasing frequency to justify and encourage an even wider crusade than the one already unleashed on the region by Uncle Sam and Apartheid Israel.

And to that end - as a propagandist for empire - he did his job exquisitely.

SCO Military Exercise Challenges Uncle Sam, Alters Geopolitical Chessboard

Last weekend, leaders of the SCO - the Shanghai Cooperation Organization - gathered for the commencement of the unprecedented 'Peace Mission 2007' military exercise. AFP reported:

The vast show of firepower... involved some 6,000 personnel from the six countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO): China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan....

The exercises come after Thursday's summit where SCO leaders underlined their common opposition to perceived US hegemony. The summit was held in the former Soviet state of Kyrgyzstan, with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad observing.

The exercises - coordinated from separate command centers in Russia and China - featured movement of Chinese forces across Russian rail lines, joint special forces activities, and fly-overs by the Chinese Air Force over Russian airspace. The sophisticated operations concretely formalized the military alliance between China and Russia designed to prevent further penetration into Central Asia by Uncle Sam. Nothing could convey this objective more clearly than the presence of the Iranian President at the summit. The Zionist propaganda site DEBKA reported:

The capability to transfer large-scale military contingents across vast distances is essential should Moscow and Beijing decide on joint military action in the event of a possible American military operation against Iran spilling over into the Caspian and Central Asian regions.

Making a similar point in a different manner, AP reported:

The leaders of Russia, China and Iran warned the outside world Thursday to let Central Asia look after its own stability and security, in a veiled message to the United States issued on the eve of major war games between Russia and China...

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, an observer at the summit, blasted U.S. missile defense plans as a threat to the entire region. "These intentions go beyond just one country. They are of concern for much of the continent, Asia and SCO members," he said.

Putin himself recently attacked the same plan for a 'missile shield' in Eastern Europe on the grounds that it threatened Russia and the world. "If this missile system is put in place, it will work automatically with the entire nuclear capability of the United States," he declared.

Russia's foreign policy establishment responded, announcing a series of counter-measures to Uncle Sam's provocative act:

• Recognizing that a loss of 'dollar hegemony' would emaciate Uncle Sam's power, Putin called for a "new architecture of economic relations" based on the "creation of several world currencies and several financial centers."
  
• Deputy Prime Minister Ivanov declared that Russia they had an asymmetrical response to the shield.
• "Russia introduced a moratorium on its observance of the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty and related international agreements."
• When Uncle Sam's NATO lackeys asked Russia to reconsider this decision, Nikolaus von Twickel reported in The Moscow Times that, "the [Russian] Defense Ministry.. rejected an offer... to hold a conference about Russia's decision to suspend its participation... and called for a new treaty to be drafted."

These measures rattled Uncle Sam. So in an attempt to ameliorate the escalating diplomatic war, He sent a diplomatic dream-team on a heavily censored summit to Russia. Henry Kissinger led the delegation, which also included:

former Secretary of State George Schultz, former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, former Special Representative for Arms Control, Nonproliferation and Disarmament Ambassador Thomas Graham Jr., former Senator Sam Nunn and Chevron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David O'Reilly.

But the secret meeting did not go well. Kissinger called the discussions "frank" - another way of saying Putin refused to grovel and genuflect at the delegation's awe-inspiring presence.

In response, Uncle Sam ordered the UnionJack to punish Russia's intransigence. Uncle Sam's obedient lackey - backed by the EU - expelled four Russian diplomats. Days later, Russia responded with a round of expulsions of their own that included Andrew Levi, who The Moscow Times calls, "the British Embassy's top trade and investment official... responsible for liaising with Russian government officials and British investors."

The tit-for-tat expulsions and increasingly hostile East-West rhetoric set the stage for the SCO summit and military exercises. But many other issues, too - NATO expansion, Kosovo 'independence', and weapons sales to Venezuela and Syria (among others) - point to a widening chasm of global imperialist forces. In this context, the growth of the China-Russia military alliance - through the SCO - takes on an added significance.

As Uncle Sam's economy continues to deflate and as the Iraq Genocide flounders and sputters along with no end in sight, one can be certain that Sam is searching for ways change the dynamic of the geopolitical chessboard. If that changed equation involves a proxy attack by Apartheid Israel on Syria or Lebanon - or another alCIAda Black-Op terror attack on Uncle Sam's Plantation used as a pretext to attack Iran - the likelihood of a conflict that expands into the very region in which the exercises took place appears increasingly likely.

As Uncle Sam's Occupation of Iraq Flounders, Carpet-Bombing Intensifies

IPS correspondent Ali al-Fadhily writes on how Uncle Sam, defeated on the ground by Iraq's Resistance, has resorted to a vindictive intensification of Carpet-Bombing Campaign to maximize civilian bloodshed:

The U.S. military has dramatically escalated its use of air power in Iraq, leading many Iraqis to conclude that the occupation forces on the ground are facing defeat.

U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft dropped five times as many bombs in Iraq during the first six months of this year as during the first half of 2006, according to official information....

The U.S. forces are looking to do more of all this. “There are times when the Army wishes we had more jets,” said F-16 pilot Lt. Col. Steve Williams, commander of the 13th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron...

Air Force engineers are working long hours to upgrade the Balad air base, just north of Baghdad, which already supports 10,000 air operations per week. One of the two 11,000-foot runways has been reinforced to withstand five to seven years more of hard use.

Salli Hussein, a 10-year-old girl, lost both her legs when her home was bombed by a U.S. jet fighter near the Abu Ghraib area of Baghdad in November 2006. Her cousin Tabarak and 11-year-old brother, Akram, were torn to pieces in that missile attack.

“I want to have legs again so that I can play with my friends and make Mama happy,” she said.

Savage Graveyard: Iraqi Muqawama Bleeds Uncle Sam's Sadistic Child Torturers

The self-parodying neo-fascist blogosphere continues to repeat the same claims of 'success' and 'victory' that Uncle Sam's official propagandists in Iraq have raised there for more than 4 years.

I suppose that's easy to do when you're not dying!

As evidence of Uncle Sam's decisive 'victory', they point to the fact that He has crammed more than 20,000 Iraqis into Torture Chambers and Concentration Camps, including more than 750 Iraqi children!

Military officials said that the American occupation army has arrested 750 children, aged between 11 to 17 years...

The American army had detained by February, with growing numbers of troops in Iraq, approximately 16 thousand people. Since that time, the number of detainees in American prisons increased by 50% to nearly 24 thousand prisoners.

Much like the 'body count' figures used to validate their claims of 'success' in Vietnam, Uncle Sam uses stats like this one - number of innocent Iraqis held in its gulags - as evidence of 'victory'.

Unfortunately for Him, fabricated definitions and terrorist attacks on civilians cannot whitewash military defeat. As Uncle Sam proudly announced this news, material reality again reared its head in the form of a video posted to the internet of a Iraqi resistance attack Abu-Graib prison that destroyed the guard towers (~2:30 into the video).

In addition to the proud admission that Uncle Sam's Gulag was buzzing with child victims even as it was under attack, His War Propagandists admitted yesterday that 10 Storm-Troopers have found their way into the Savage Graveyard at the hands of the Iraqi Resistance. Three died on the ground in restive Nineveh province (scene of the Biblical fairy tale about Jonah) and two more in Baghdad. Five more bit the dust when their Chinook helicopter went down in Resistance-held Anbar province.

Meanwhile, AFP reported that the Resistance has successfully targeted a group of high-level collaborators from Iraq's puppet government:

The governor and police chief of Iraq's southern Shiite city of Diwaniyah were killed when a bomb attack ripped through their convoy on Saturday...

"The hospital in Diwaniyah received the governor and police chief, and three other corpses from their security detail," said Doctor Hamid Gaati, head of the health directorate in Diwaniyah...

A senior security official in Diwaniyah said they were killed in a multiple bomb attack on their convoy.

"More than 10 IEDs (roadside bombs) targeted a convoy of the governor and the chief of police on their way back from Afak to the centre of the city, killing the governor of Diwaniyah and the chief of police," said the official.

Falsify as they might, Uncle Sam's neo-fascist apologists simply can deny neither the reality of the Resistance's growing strength in Iraq - as evidenced by the sophisticated military operations outlined above - or the utter depravity of Uncle Sam's demoralized military. For four years, lacking a fraction of the intelligence needed to defeat a guerrilla insurgency, Uncle Sam has marched through Iraq torturing women and murdering children. In doing so, they have extinguished every conceivable excuse for their failure to subdue the heroic Resistance who, day after day, does more to combat Uncle Sam's Imperial machine than anyone else on earth.

And while apologetics and myth-making may have the desired effect of propagandizing those living on Uncle Sam's Plantation, they fail to subdue the resounding cry heard throughout Iraq:

Storm-Troopers Continue to Die, Leaving Uncle Sam to Ponder the Draft... Again

In their ongoing campaign to liberate their respective homelands, the Iraqi Resistance has gunned down five more Storm-Troopers in and around Baghdad. Meanwhile the Afghan Resistance in Helmand province continues to resist Uncle Sam's baby-killing genocide, killing four - 3 who serve Uncle Sam and 1 reporting to UnionJack - along with their collaborator interpreter.

With news like this, one is hardly surprised to see Peter Beaumont's report in Britain's Observer that Uncle Sam's forces are running out of gas. He writes:

Where once the war in Iraq was defined in conversations with these men by untenable ideas - bringing democracy or defeating al-Qaeda - these days the war in Iraq is defined by different ways of expressing the idea of being weary. It is a theme that is endlessly reiterated as you travel around Iraq. 'The army is worn out. We are just keeping people in theatre who are exhausted,' says a soldier working for the US army public affairs office who is supposed to be telling me how well things have been going since the 'surge' in Baghdad began.

They are not supposed to talk like this. We are driving and another of the public affairs team adds bitterly: 'We should just be allowed to tell the media what is happening here. Let them know that people are worn out. So that their families know back home. But it's like we've become no more than numbers now...'

In the northern city of Mosul, an officer talks privately. 'We're plodding through this,' he says after another patrol and another ambush in the city centre. 'I don't know how much more plodding we've got left in us.'

When the soldiers talk like this there is resignation. There is a corrosive anger, too, that bubbles out, like the words pouring unbidden from a chaplain's assistant who has come to bless a patrol. 'Why don't you tell the truth? Why don't you journalists write that this army is exhausted?'...

And it is not only the soldiers that are worn out. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have led to the destruction, or wearing out, of 40 per cent of the US army's equipment, totalling at a recent count $212bn (£105bn)...

The army's exhaustion is reflected in problems such as the rate of desertion and unauthorised absences - a problem, it was revealed earlier this year, that had increased threefold on the period before the war in Afghanistan and had resulted in thousands of negative discharges.

Beaumont's report explains how Uncle Sam's forces, riddled with confusion and fear, lack the steadfastness to continue fighting His Crusade. The Storm-Troopers' admissions - rare in the world of military affairs - explain, in part, why Uncle Sam's so-called "war tsar" wants a draft. Beaumont continues:

In a radio interview, Lieutenant General Douglas Lute said the option had always been open to boost America's all-volunteer army by drafting in young men in the same way as happened in Vietnam. 'I think it makes sense to consider it,' he said....

Lute... said the war was causing stress to military families and, as a result, was having an impact on levels of re-enlistment. 'This kind of stress plays out across dinner tables and in living-room conversations within these families. Ultimately the health of the all-volunteer force is going to rest on those sorts of personal family decisions,' he said.

News like this leaves Klanwatchers like MISS BEAMISH paralyzed at the thought of serving Uncle Sam with something more than infantile rhetoric.

But she needn't worry. While Vanilla Sam has shown - over three centuries - no concern over genocide, he draws a line in the sand, politically, when called upon to make sacrifices. Uncle Sam knows this, and as such he recognizes the political untenability of a draft.

The Knight Report opens the show. Robert Knight reported on Uncle Sam's Genocide in Iraq and the latest statement from the Iraqi National Resistance in which its leader, Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, pledged "jihad and escalating jihad, until the last soldier of the enemy flees the land of Iraq." Al-Douri went on to announce that, "your enemy is collapsing and is being defeated, so are its followers, agents and spies as a result of your giant jihadi march."

Knight's report details Uncle Sam's failed military campaign, his attempted oil seizure, his quisling government, and a possible Turkish invasion of Northern Iraq.

While we see a high body count among Iraqi civilians - one of Uncle Sam's objectives - we see little in terms of military progress or military success. In the face of this news, Uncle Sam had a Wet Dream in which Iraq became like Apartheid Israel:

In places like Israel, terrorists have taken innocent human life for years in suicide attacks.

Peter Gowans: Uncle Sam's WarOn Terrorists Strike Iran

At his blog What's Left (just added to our blogroll), Peter Gowans has written a very informative, detailed piece entitled "The War on Iran" in which he makes a materialist case that the ongoing diplomatic shell-game played by Uncle Sam (along with his Zionist proxies and European lackeys) camouflages their already existing attack on the Persian people. He writes:

The US, Britain and Israel are at war with Iran. The war is not conducted, at the moment, anyway, through missile strikes, bombing campaigns or land invasion, but by intimidation, provocation, subversion, and economic warfare. While the war is being justified as a necessary response to a growing threat of nuclear proliferation and to counter the alleged existential threat to Jews living in Israel posed by the president of Iran, the real reason for the war is to be found in the domination of public policy by the owners and high-level executives of banks and large corporations and in the directions in which the logic of capitalism pushes them to shape foreign policy.

Gowans cites R. Palme Dutt's aphorism that diplomacy is war by other means - a point made by Carl von Clausewitz as well. Strongly supported by compelling evidence, the piece is a must-read to counter the existing propaganda that Uncle Sam has no intention of waging war on Iran.

In truth, the war began long ago. The question remaining before us now is how long it assumes an overtly military character.

Savage Resistance: A Bloody Weekend Points to a Shi'ite Surge Against Uncle Sam

The National Resistance continues to fight, and blood continues to flow in Iraq due completely to Uncle Sam's occupation of Iraq. Uncle Sam's privatized propaganda machine reported on the events this weekend as one of the bloodiest for his GI Joes.

The reason is simple: Uncle Sam's recent policy shift in Iraq made the explicit call to target Sadrists. The strategy took concrete form earlier this week with the kidnapping of Sadrist politician Abdul-Hadi al-Darraji in Baghdad.

This weekend, the movement responded.

National Resistance Fighters downed a helicopter in Diyala province to the East of Baghdad, killing fifteen GI Joes including a high-ranking officer.

Until his announcement, to retain plausible deniability, Uncle Sam preferred to fight the Sadrist forces - excepting two brief uprisings in Najaf and some scattered fighting in Sadr City - clandistenly. Attacks on the Sadrists were indirect. Meant to divorce the Sadrists from the National Resistance, they took the form of alCIAda-staged Black Ops on Shi'ite holy sites. And, to a large extent these moves were effective, temporarily shattering all hopes for national unity among Iraqis (against Uncle Sam), and using the sectarian attacks that resulted to justify his presence.

The best example of this strategy was Uncle Sam's February 2006 attack on the Askariyah Shrine in Samarra, which Savage Justice covered extensively.

No doubt in anticipation of another Black-Ops strike hatched by Uncle Sam's WarOn Terrorists in Karbala' over ‘Ashura,’ which begins 29 January, Sadrist Resistance Fighters launched a coordinated attack on a puppet government building with grenades, small arms, and more than a dozen rockets on Saturday, killing five more GI Joes.

Elsewhwere in Southern Iraq, the National Resistance staged an ambush in Basra, killing a British soldier.

As it has done with much greater accuracy than Uncle Sam's Privatized Propaganda Machine, the Iraq Resistance Reports detail these and other attacks, which indicate an in-progress unification between Sunni and Shi'ites and a renewed commitment by the National Resistance to expel Uncle Sam's GI Joes.

UnionJack's Forces Under Heavy Assault in Southern Iraq

Even as Uncle Sam tries to turn up the heat on Sadrists in Baghdad (as the invaluable Roads to Iraq reports) in a last-ditch campaign to salvage something from his complete defeat in Iraq, we read on the AP wire service reports that entrenched UnionJack forces occupying the southern city of Basra - a city that borders Iran - have come under heavy bombardment in recent days:

Six British soldiers were wounded in attacks on their base in southern Iraq last night, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said today.

The Basra Palace camp in Basra city came under fire from a mixture of mortars, rockets and small arms three times yesterday evening.

In the attacks, one soldier was seriously wounded and five others sustained minor injuries...

Two British soldiers suffered minor injuries when their patrol came under attack in the Al Ashshar area of Basra province on Wednesday.

Just as Uncle Sam compelled the always-willing UnionJack to lead NATO's disasterous, failed occupation of Afghanistan, he also convinced Jack to hold down Basra in Iraq. And like every other conclusion reached by Uncle Sam's WarOn Terrorists, their arrogant and racist assumptions about the viability and plausibility of these two missions have left a good number of UnionJack's soldiers surrounded by enemies, helplessly under attack in a foreign land.

The Sunday Telegraph received a report leaked by the British military that presents a reality Tony Blair still refuses to acknowledge: the Afghan Resistance has defeated UnionJack's NATO-led Crusade.

A lack of political direction, a shortage of soldiers and "complete disconnection" between the Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence combined to hinder progress in the war in Afghanistan, a report by military chiefs has concluded.

The document, drawn up by senior officers from 16 Air Assault Brigade, gives a withering assessment of how decisions in Whitehall prevented progress against the Taliban and, sources claim, contributed to deaths and injuries among soldiers.
